About me

I’m Dede Eyesan, and welcome to Global Outperformers, an investment research page where I write about globally listed companies and investment thoughts as I navigate the investing world.

I began my investment journey at age 10 after stumbling on the stock market column in my local Guardian newspaper while growing up in Lagos. I purchased shares in three companies, and after five years, two had gone up in value (Nestle Nigeria and Seven Up Bottling) while one fell by half (First Bank Nigeria). The journey of understanding why they had changed in value led me into the world of fundamentals-based investing: balance sheets, annual reports and industry drivers.

I later founded an investment club while studying at the London School of Economics, which morphed into my investment firm, Jenga Investment Partners Ltd, in 2022, two years after completing my degree.

Global Outperformers

Investing in businesses is a lifelong passion of mine, and Global Outperformers is my way of sharing what I learn about the world as an investor with you. The name “Global Outperformers” came from the research book I published in 2023, which examined some of the best-returning companies over a ten-year period.

I was extremely lucky to have come across so many interesting people in the investing world through the book, and I recently asked myself, Why stop here? Why not share more about what you learned about?

What to expect

Every month, you will receive a deep dive on a globally listed company. I focus mainly on companies I consider to be high-quality with enduring moats and growth prospects. These companies wouldn’t always be deeply undervalued or currently meet our 12% IRR hurdle, but as markets repeatedly show, some opportunity may present itself.

I also occasionally publish articles on smaller-cap companies in the sub-newsletter Small Cap. These are businesses with the potential for higher growth and could become high-moat businesses.

More general articles include my portfolio updates, book and podcast summaries, and articles about themes, technologies, trends and developments I find interesting and valuable as long-term investors.
